Switcheroo Zoo

I hope you all see I have linked switcheroo zoo!  I hope you have fun playing on there.

Thinking about blogging...

Today we looked at what we can do and share on our blog.  We are thinking about how it can help us with our learning at home and at school.  Our blog is a great place for us to visit and read posts, comment on posts and add posts.

Today in class we all added a post.  We are hoping that our families will visit our posts and add a comment tonight.  When we add a comment to the posts we think about these 5 steps:

  1. Start with a greeting.
  2. Add some praise.
  3. Add a comment and any new information you have to share.
  4. Ask a question - to start a conversation.
  5. Sign off

Blogging with Mrs K

Today was fun.  We got to look at all the different things we could do on the blog.  We all got to put a post on the blog.  Tonight we are going to get our families to look at the blog and add a comment.  We might go on the blog and add comments for others too.

The computers

You can play lots of different games and you can look up lots of information.  I like playing games on the computer.  I like online games because not as many people play them.  There are only a certain amount of people online, depending on what time you are online.  I like playing miniclip.  It is probably one of the most popular games.

Seth's quartz

I got this quartz from at home in the garden.  I took it to school because I thought it would be interesting.  When I break it, it might have gold in it.  We'd be rich.

Ethan's jigsaw puzzle

Today I got to meet Ethan and Megan. Ethan is very good at jigsaw puzzles and he loves my computer.

My kangaroos.

I have been listening to five flying saucers.  I made two joeys and two kangaroos.  The joeys are in the pocket called a pouch.

The nuts

Vicky, our teacher aide, bought some nuts to school.  Some of them are spiky and some of them are opening, and some of them are shiny.  My favourite ones are the spiky ones and the shiny ones.

Baby Lion

Baby Lion is asleep.  The lions are in the grass.  Baby lion wakes up.  Mother lion is not here.  Baby Lion is looking for mother lion.

My nest

We found this nest at home.  Tom found it in the rain.  It was very wet.  We took it to school.  We put it on the science table because that is where all the science stuff is.  There is a little piece of egg with blue and black on it in the nest.

Playing with Elsie

On Friday Elsie came to myself.  We went outside and coloured in Dora the Explorer.   We pushed the boys in the pram.  Jack and Aaron and Harry came over to my house.

This rock!

I have this rock.  Does anyone know what this rock is called?  It is very light and it smells like a marshmallow.

The Lion and the Rabbit

This book is brand new.  The lion wants to catch the rabbit.  He spots a deer coming by.  He chases the deer.  The deer is too fast.  The lion goes back to the river to see if he can catch.  He has a grin on his face.  He had to stay hungry!

My bird nest

When I was in the gully in the school holidays I found this bird nest in a flax tree.  We had to go right in the leaves.  It has egg shell in it.  It is made out of old twists sticks and sheep fur and green bits of trees.  I keep it in a box so it doesn't go all over everything.  I have it on the science table so everyone can have a look at it!

Space

I dream a dream of rockets blasting out of space to the moon but he gets stopped by aliens.  He lands on the moon and he has to fix his ship on the moon then he can fly back home.

I like writing stories because I get really good ideas.  Sometimes I have so many ideas I don't know what to write about.

Sean's quartz

We found this quartz rock when we were going home from delivering cupcakes.  We found it on a lane.  I like it because it looks a wee bit like a crystal.

I put it in a box and I brought it to school.  Everyone has looked at it!

My leaf rock

When Lucy was at Waihola District School she went to camp.  She found a rock with a leaf on it. When she came home we had a look at it and she said Mum and I could have it.  I brought it to school to show the teachers and the class and to write a story about it!

I wrote a story and drew a picture of Lucy's rock with a leaf on it.

Tamati's head skeleton

I found this at a graveyard.  There were some cows over the fence.  I thought it was from a cow.  I took it home.  The next day I took it to school and put it on the science table.  I have another one too.  I have a jaw bone.  Everyone likes looking at them.

Jack's reading

I got this in my reading diary because I have past 50 nights reading!  I might be the first one to finish my dairy. I like reading a lot!
