The Taieri Music Festival

Up on the Stage 

At the Taieri Music Festival, we sang 'Colour my world'. We had to practise a lot but it was fun on the night because I heard a lot of new songs and some songs I already knew.
I liked standing on the stage because I felt tall. I really don't know why I thought I wouldn't like it. I surprised myself.

I got up on the stage and sang 'Colour my world' with my school.
There were lots of people and  lots of bright lights. I liked the music.

My favorite part of the Music Festival was when we all sang 'We built this city', because it was great hearing all the other schools singing and Waihola School were joining in. It sounded cool.
It made me feel happy.

Shapes in Art

At maths we were learning about geometry and shape work. We put shapes down on the paper and drew around them with wax crayon and then we dyed them.
I like my picture because I tried to make the shape of a ducks face. The eye turned out perfectly.

Adventures at Toitu and The Dunedin Art Gallery

The House

When we went into the house at Toitu, I liked the roof because the rain could not get in. The roof is made out of sticks and reeds and cutty grass.
The bed was not comfortable.

Lego Creations

I enjoyed playing with the Lego at the Gallery because we could smash things down and re-use the blocks to build our own things, or we could add to the humungous sky scrapers.
All of the blocks were white. I like Lego.

Toitu Early Settlers Museum Trip

We went to the Toitu Early Settlers Museum to look at inventions made by the Maori people and the early settlers.We saw a canoe made by Maori people and it was made out of reeds. They used flax to tie the canoe altogether.The Maori people invented this idea so that they could go fishing for food and for travelling across the lakes, streams and rivers.
